That’s an interesting thread, but I think you can go much farther by not only becoming Google algorithm change-resistant. Instead, shake off your dependency on traffic exclusively from search engines.
The fact is that most web traffic does not originate from search engines. Search engine traffic is just a fraction of where targeted traffic comes from. If you build traffic from a diverse group of sources you shake off your dependence on traffic from a single source.
What is important is the targeted traffic. Many folks focus exclusively on search engine traffic and in doing so put their business in a perilous position. Search engine traffic makes up less than one-third of all web traffic. Why do so many ignore two-thirds of all their potential traffic?
