Your best option for eCommerce, usually is to use a platform built for eCommerce. Having said that you can organize your WordPress categories to work the way you desire.
Just create a category titled “Blog”, or “Articles”, and post your articles to that particular category.
Optionally, you could create a separate blog directory for you articles by using the Multisite feature of WordPress. Or, you could just create a totally separate blog on a different domain. All those should work equally well for promoting your website.
