I did a quick search on SEOMoz and Google and found nothing that supports your assertion that +1 affects your rankings. :confused:
I agree that Social Media is a big factor, just nothing about the +1 button having any effect on rankings. That claim is totally new to me and contrary to everything I have read about it from Google.
Actually, according to Google, personalization is on when you are not logged in.
