When you purchase a domain that has previously earned PR for the homepage, there is one thing you must do to preserve the link juice flowing to your domain’s homepage. You must maintain the previous URL structure. In the event you are unable, or for some reason, it is impractical to maintain the previous URL structure, you should put in place Permanent 301 redirects, from the old URLs to the new one(s).
If you are using a WordPress script, get a plugin that will redirect missing pages to the homepage. You may find that PR actually increases in some circumstances.
Finally, beware when purchasing domains for the PR, some will immediately lose the PR due to the seller pulling the backlinks that fueled that PR.
