The first step in getting your web pages ranked is to first get Google to spider the website and add it to their index. Have you checked to see if it was even indexed?
Use the site: operator to filter all search results except those from your website by entering the following into the Google search box:
site:mydomain.com
(replace “mydomain.com” with your actual website domain name)
If you see pages of your website listed then your website is indexed. If not then head on over to Google Webmaster Tools, add your website to your account and get it verified and Google will tell you why your website isn’t indexed and what you can do about it.
If it is listed when you use the site: operator to check, then it is simply a case of your pages not having enough relevance or enough link juice to rank at the top of SERPs. If that’s the case then try downloading Google’s SEO Starter Guide to learn how to get our website ranking for your targeted keyword.
