[I’m currently using the Google Sniper 2 technique and I set up the site as he describes with all of the WordPress SEO-related plug-ins. After the first day, I was on top of the 7th page. I know this is terrible, but it gave me hope that I can push my way up there. After a few days, my ranking dropped into nothingness. The keyword is “weaning puppies” and the domain is the keyword put together plus a .org (the forum isn’t letting me post links yet). I’m not so concerned with success here as I am with understanding why this happened. I want to further my knowledge of how PageRanks work and how Google decides where to position your listing. What you experienced is typical and is caused by a feature in Google that is known as QDF (Query Deserves Freshness). This feature pushes fresh new content towards the top of the search results for a brief period of time. After a short while this freshness factor wears off and your page will sink to its’ current earned position.
Now it is time to go out and earn the higher rankings by using solid promotional techniques.
